COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course examines the fundamental rights of individuals and/or groups. It traces the historical development of individual rights and duties as they relate to the power of sovereign states and the rules of international laws. Using international and regional conventions on human and people’s rights, this course interrogates the relationships between international norms and domestic laws and institutions in the recognition, protection and enforcement of human rights.
